Keyboard

This is the keyboard of an ottavino, an instrument that I no longer offer as the demand for this type of virginal is practically non-existent. Nonetheless, this instrument is proudly displayed in my home and is a wonderful conversation piece. The natural keys are covered in walnut, and the sharps are capped with bone. The arcades, which are the decorative pieces on the front end of the natural keys, are made of maple. They are glued onto the keyboard in one long strip before the individual keys are cut apart during the keyboard's construction.
